Cookie Notice
This page explains the cookies and browser storage DutyClaims uses in the current app. It is a product-specific companion to our Privacy Policy.
How DutyClaims approaches browser privacy
DutyClaims is not an ad-tech product. The app uses first-party cookies to keep authentication, legal acceptance, referral continuity, and invite flows working. Optional analytics, when allowed, is deliberately limited to safe public pages and excludes query strings plus authenticated or document-sensitive routes.
Authentication and security
Clerk session and security cookies keep signed-in users authenticated and protect account access across importer, broker, attorney, diligence, and admin workspaces.
- Examples
- Clerk-managed authentication cookies
- Retention
- Session-managed by the identity provider
Legal-policy acceptance
DutyClaims stores whether the current Terms, Privacy, and Data Processing policy bundle has been accepted so authenticated users do not need to re-accept on every page load.
- Examples
- dc_policy_consent
- Retention
- Up to 1 year
Referral attribution
If someone reaches DutyClaims through a broker referral link, we keep the referral code long enough to preserve attribution during onboarding.
- Examples
- dc_ref
- Retention
- Up to 90 days
Broker invite continuity
When a broker sends an importer invite, we retain the invite token long enough to carry the user through sign-in or onboarding without losing the invitation context.
- Examples
- dc_broker_client_invite
- Retention
- Up to 14 days
Optional public-site analytics
If you allow analytics, DutyClaims records pageviews for safe public pages only. We strip query strings before sending them and do not measure authenticated workspaces, claim URLs, document links, admin routes, or tokenized links.
- Examples
- Preference stored in dc_cookie_preferences
- Retention
- Preference stored for up to 180 days
Changing your analytics choice
The public footer and results disclaimer include a Cookie settings control so you can reopen your preference dialog after the banner is dismissed.
